| Can you print on paper that I supply ? |

Sizes and coatings for digital printing are very specific and we cannot guarantee results on other than approved papers. Please call if you have questions, 212-354-6123. |

What file formats do you require or support ? |
|
A press quality Acrobat PDF is the preferred file format for printing.
- Acrobat PDF/X1a (Acrobat 4 – 1.3 specification)
- All fonts embedded
- Embedded images should be CMYK, 300dpi
- Spot colors should be converted to CMYK
- All transparencies flattened
- PDF should be reviewed and approved as press ready prior to submission to print
We also support the following formats with the attendant qualifications:
- Quark Xpress
(Perform a Collect option in Quark)
- Fonts included (printer and screen), no Quark type styles.
- Pictures included (as CMYK), 300dpi @ 100% final size.
- Colors converted to CMYK
- InDesign (Perform a Package option in InDesign)
- Fonts included (printer and screen)
- Linked images included (as CMYK), 300dpi @ 100% final size.
- Colors converted to CMYK
- All transparencies flattened
- Adobe Illustrator
- Art board should be final trim size, if not; crops marks should be in file.
- Fonts converted to outlines
- Placed images embedded, 300dpi @ 100% final size, colors converted to CMYK
- All transparencies flattened
- Illustrator EPS format (not native AI)
- Image Formats (not recommended for any type setting)
- TIF – Flattened CMYK, no color profile or tags, 300dpi @ 100%
- Photoshop EPS – Fonts pre-rasterized, CMYK, 300dpi @ 100%
- JPEG – CMYK, 300dpi @ 100%
General Requirements
- Layout
- Printer’s spreads - required for saddle books
- Folding guides or instructions should be included
- Bleed
- 1/8” on trim edges – 1/16” minimum
- If bleed is needed please include crop marks - at least 3mm offset for marks
- Color Model (for all placed images and art)
- CMYK
- No embedded profile
- No ICC tagged images
- Resolution for Placed Images
- 300dpi @ 100% final size (please do not scale within layout program, ie. Quark, InDesign, etc.)
- Safe to Trim
- 1/4” inside trim boundary for images and text
