Tax credit for Green Printing? Posted: July 26th, 2010 in Green Printing Deadtree Edition is reporting that a proposed U.S. tax credit for “green” printing was unveiled this week. Print Buyers Online has proposed legislation to Congress that would give a tax credit to companies that buy large quantities ($100,000 or above per year) of printing. The legislation would promote the use of recycled fibers in paper manufacturing as well as requiring papers to be certified by either FSC or SFI organizations. Influence Graphics is a green printer in New York City that specializes in digital printing. Digital printing is inherently more “green” than traditional offset printing because of less make ready waste and because the inks used don’t contain VOC’s. Additionally, digital printing allows short run printing to be economical which eliminates the waste associated with out of date printed materials.
